ARS, ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE SHOW AT THE FONDAZIONE ARNALDO POMODORO

Date: May 05, 2010 - June 27, 2010
Place: Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milan

From 5 May to 27 June 2010, the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milan, will exhibit twenty works made by young authors, selected among the most important residences for artists in Italy and worldwide.

The exhibition, curated by Angela Vettese and Milovan Farronato, will present works carried out by Italian and international artists, through an exhibition that illustrates the phenomenon of the residences for artists, which strongly reveals how the world of art is changing.

These are places where artists can work and study and which help their concentration, training, experimentation, growth of new ideas, away from daily necessities and from market pressure.

In this particular situation the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, in partnership with UniCredit Group, will present the UniCredit Project Room, an area dedicated to young artists or groups whose works catched the attention of the cultural world.

Sissi (Bologna 1977) is the protagonist of the first exhibition entitled Addosso, curated by Angela Vettese and Milovan Farronato, a borderline work, between her private life and her real gift for artistic performance, showing part of her wardrobe of wearable works of art.

She was the winner of the Furla - Querini Stampalia award in 2002, of the Francesca Alinovi award in 2003, Artist of the Year in 2005. Sissi was also the subject of important solo and group exhibitions, as those at the Galleria Civica in Trento and at the Macro in Rome; in 2009 she participated at the Biennial Exhibition of Modern Art in Venice.
