Bank Austria Kunstforum – Vienna
Opened in 1980, this Viennese exhibition space supported by Bank Austria welcomes 300,000 visitors each year for its shows of modern and contemporary art.
Since the beginning, the commitment to focus on quality and internationalism is confirmed by the commission given to the famous Austrian architect Gustav Peichl to remodel the Kunstforum making it the most modern exhibition space in Austria. Bank Austria Kunstforum follows the same direction focusing on major international shows involving classic modern artists and their precursors. Many and important names such as the major Austrian artists since after 1945.
YAPI Kredi Cultural Center – Istanbul
The Turkish bank of the UniCredit Group has founded a multi-cultural center in Istanbul, the Yapi Kredi Cultural Center, where about 500 different artistic and cultural events per year are scheduled; the offering is varied, including exhibitions, forums, discussions, and productions of wide renown. The sixtieth anniversary of the YAPI Kredi art publishing house is to be celebrated in 2009. The Vedat Nedim Tor Museum is the exhibition site for the collections of Yapi Kredi of antique coins, medallions, embroidery, costumes, gold medals, Karagoz shadow puppets, documents and objects pertaining to Ataturk.
The Kazim Tashkent Gallery of Art schedules expositions in Istanbul of the most well-known Turkish artists and, as well, presents the works of emerging artists of international repute. The Sermet Cifter Gallery offers works from many of the most significant international photographers.
Kunsthalle der HYPO-Kulturstiftung – Munich
HypoVereins, the leading Bavarian bank, founded and continues to sustain this exhibition space in Munich, boasting 350,000 visitors per year and celebrating the reaching of 6 million visitors in 2005.
The last two shows, "Skythen" and "Mark Rothko", were among the top ten shows with the greatest volume of visitors in Germany, along with the unqualified success of "Marc Chagall" and "Claude Monet" several years earlier.
The foundation also supports cultural projects focusing on involvement in the figurative arts and the conservation of historical monuments: the “Hypo Cultural Foundation Monument” award, meant to provide renovations for private parties who own historical buildings in Bavaria, and “A Museum Fund” to support German museums with a permanent collection of modern art of national significance in the acquisition of works by young contemporary artists.
Pavilion UniCredit - Bucharest
Opened in January 2009 in a former branch of UniCredit Tiriac Bank, the Pavilion UniCredit is an independent space for the production and research in the fields of visual, discursive and performing arts. The center sets up exhibitions, events, educational programs and represents one of the most important art and culture information sources in the country, with the Contemporary Art Archive and the Pavilion Resource Room.
The center is managed by a professional team of curators being the result of an extended cooperation between the Bucharest Biennale team and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
