Head of Household Financing





Raffaele Cicala was born in Naples (Italy) on April 10th, 1962.

 

Raffaele Cicala is a BA graduate in Economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Naples.

 

Before joining UniCredit Group, he worked four years at Procter & Gamble and sixteen years at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

 

He started his career at Procter & Gamble in Italy, where he developed marketing and sales expertise, working from 1985 until 1989 up to the level of Group Manager.

 

From 1989 until 2006 he worked at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) serving leading players on corporate and business strategy, including M&A, and restructuring across Western and Eastern Europe. At BCG he has been based in Paris, Milan, Warsaw and Rome and has been Vice President & Director of The Boston Consulting Group Inc.:

 

  • he joined The Boston Consulting Group as a Consultant in the Paris office and then moved to Milan office as a Manager; 
  • in 1997 he established the Warsaw office which he managed until 2001. From Warsaw he also led the development of the Financial Services in Central and Eastern Europe and set up The Boston Consulting Group Prague office in 1989;
  • starting from 2001 he moved back to Italy as Head of the Rome office and core member of the Financial Services sector in Italy;
  • while at BCG, as Client Service Officer, he served UniCredit Group since 1999 on its Corporate development as well as on the Retail and Private Business Areas.

 

Raffaele Cicala joined UniCredit Group in 2006.

 

He is now Head of UniCredit Group Household Financing Division, present in six Countries (Italy, Germany, Poland, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria), and he is CEO of UniCredit Family Financing Bank with the Group title of Executive Vice President.

 

In his role, Raffaele Cicala is responsible for the lending activity to individuals/families via both Group Retail Networks and other non banking channels.

 

From January 2010 he is also member of UniCredit Management Committee.
