Joint Declaration on “Training, Learning and Professional Development”

European Works Council

On 16 December 2008, the Joint Declaration on “Training, Learning and Professional Development” was signed by the European Works Council, represented by its Chairman Andrea Bonansea and the Select Committee and by UniCredit Group Central Management, represented by UniCredit Group Head of Human Resources Rino Piazzolla and the Head of Industrial Relations Angelo Carletta.

The Declaration is the result of the work done by the Joint Commission founded in April 2008 and made up of EWC members, Group HR representatives and internal experts.

It is an important and tangible example of how the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Dialogue, as well as the values of the Integrity Charter, can be translated into the daily life of all Employees.

UniCredit Group strongly believes that the constant development of People represents a key investment that fosters motivation and increases retention, as well as being a fundamental benefit for the success and sustainability of any company’s strategy.

This is especially relevant in the context of the new global business market that is highly dynamic and complex. Learning is a lifelong, permanent experience, aimed at providing our Colleagues the tools and skills to support actual and potential future roles, strengthening their employability and empowering them to seize new opportunities.

Moreover, with a view to Diversity as one of the main sources of our strength, the Joint Declaration defines guidelines and principles that respect the different cultural, social and historical backgrounds of each country where UniCredit Group is present.

These guidelines and principles are meant to provide a support for all those involved and a point of reference for all strategies, activities and initiatives in the field of training, learning and professional development.
