Historical buildings

The 60,000 works in UniCredit's art collection – the largest corporate collection in Europe – are supplemented by a substantial number of buildings of great historic and aesthetic value.

As they are the physical embodiment of our history, we are grateful for the care and attention these structures have received from the banks that combined to form UniCredit. Serving as custodians to these historic buildings is another way in which we show our appreciation for our cultural heritage and our close connections with the communities we work in. Some of these buildings were commissioned by the banks themselves and others by ancient noble families, but they all enlisted the talents of the best architects and artists of their eras and serve as concrete expressions of the values of those who built them.

Here, we have the pleasure of sharing with you some of our most spectacular edifices, presented in the form of a tour of Europe, from North to South. In Italy, most of these buildings are open for public tours during the annual Italian Banking Association’s “Invito a Palazzo” (“Invitation to a Palace”) event, a day designed to express our community ties and to satisfy the curiosity and interest of the broader public.

More detailed descriptions are available for each building.
