Theodor Weimer was born in Wertheim (Germany) on 21 December 1959.
After graduating from the universities of Tübingen and St.Gallen in 1984 in Business Administration and Economics, he was awarded his Doctorate in Mathematical Organizational Theory (Dr.rer.pol.) at the research chair of Prof. Dr. Albach at the University of Bonn in 1987.
From 1st January 2009 he is Board Spokesman (CEO) at UniCredit Bank AG (HVB AG) and member of the Management Committee of UniCredit Group as Country Chairman Germany with the title of Senior Executive Vice President.
He started his professional career in 1988 at McKinsey & Company in Düsseldorf, from where he switched to Bain & Company in Munich in 1995 as a Director and a Member of the Global Management Committee.
In 2001 he joined Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division. In 2004 he was promoted to Partner of Goldman Sachs.
In 2007 he took over the position as Head of Global Investment Banking in the Markets & Investment Banking Division at UniCredit Group in Munich.
In April 2008 he was announced designated Board Spokesman of Bayerische Hypo- and Vereinsbank AG.
